Let us speak of the physics of time and space and the metaphysics of travel and meaning and the writing of it all.
Distance and difference are the secret tonic of creativity. When we get home, home is still the same. But our mind has changed, and that changes everything. Real journeys continue long after movement in time and space has ceased.
In salvage anthropology, I wrote stories to taste life twice, in the moment and retrospect. And I will survive beyond my physical existence because only words last forever. Wing up, and that’s all you’ve got, the last rite of passage.
So, here is a Treasury of what I did on my vacations on six continents over 36 years, in as many stories of time and space and travel and meaning. They’re now immortal. Listen to them with your whole face.
