Sinopse
The term Great American Novel refers to a canonical novel that is thought to have captured the spirit of American life. These novels are generally written by Americans and deal in some way with the question of America's national character. The Great American Novel is sometimes considered America's equivalent of the national epic.
But what does that mean when America is on the rocks? When the leader of the free world is a mysoganistic conman, and everybody knows it? When the top one-percent owns half of the country's wealth? When most of America is living paycheck to paycheck at or below the poverty line?
I'll suck it up and do what needs to be done. Nobody said it would be easy. A world with everything on the brink, aworld is filled with liars and thieves, a world where the rules no longer apply. That's okay by me. In truth, I've never had much use for the rules anyway, and a world with no rules sounds pretty fine to me.
Come with me as I get lied to and robbed from, beaten down and ripped apart. Come with me as I get even and take everything I have coming to me.
"A brutal, honest look at the new Great American Novel. The Great Gatsby on bath salts." (Andrea Caballero)
"A clear and unique voice in crime fiction. I couldn't put it down." (Lauren O'Lear)
"I have nothing to compare it with. The strangest coming of age story I have ever read. Five stars!" (Tracy Michelle)
