The poem focuses on the second assassin Ezio, his visits to Florence and Venice, and the killing of Uberto Alberti and other influential figures of the Pazzi who were involved in the death of his father Giovanni. It mentions notable figures from history who help Ezio along the way, especially Leonardo da Vinci who supplies arms and Statesman Lorenzo de Medici.
