Prestige. War. I am but a pawn in his twisted game. The man who sits on a throne of his enemies' skulls thinks I'm a weakling. Little does he know, in this chess game, the underdog wins. O começo do livro foi difícil, mas depois a historia me pegou, não consegui lavar

Let’s start with: the MMC have a personality transplant throughout the book. I get that a few things would change, but no the whole goddamn character, to the end of the story he was just flat.
About the FMC, I liked that she has a disability and was portrayed very wip smart (as it should), but the struggles after disability wasn’t downplayed. However, with everything that happens to her throughout the whole history, her upbringing, and the grape this girl should be traumatized to the hell and back, but she’s just too forgiven, just accepts everything with a little shrug and keeps going, it doesn’t make any sense. She’s just like, SPOILER ALERT, “oh, my mum lied to the whole family about me my whole life and made me portray this do dumb doll like person just so she could have me all to herself, and I will keep trying to make amends with her after she treated me so poorly and ghosts me when I tell everyone that I’m just deaf. AND I would just forget that my brothers and father forced me to keep this fetus when I explicit told my mom, I didn’t want it” (and when we get to know WHY her dad had that opinion, I would like you to join me FLIPPING EVERY SINGLE TABLE IN AN ONE MILE RADIUS).
Besides everything, I hated so much the cheating trope in this book.
It REALLY didn’t hit the spot, the story seems like a damn publicity to woman don’t have abortions EVEN IN THIS GOD AWFUL SITUATION (would be justified in every situation, but this one specifically would be the most justified one), just because her father said “that must have been Gods plan”. I swear, I would smack him and her brothers and solved 80% of this book in the first few chapters.
Just don’t
