With danger and uncertainty around every corner, Ynarra and her small band of red-collared fugitives are free from their tower prison. But they now find themselves trapped behind enemy lines and imprisoned inside of a city on fire.

Dragons are loose, armies are clashing in the streets, and Crystalbay’s skyscraping black towers of glass and steel are falling down around them.

Pursued through the burning city by the Paladins and with the dragons wreaking havoc, all seems lost…until Ynarra hears a strange but familiar voice inside her head.

She doesn’t know whose voice it is or why she keeps hearing it. All she knows is that it’s got a mission for her:

Home is right across the river, but it might as well be a million miles and an entire realm away. The dead are…well, dead.
