The book starts off incredibly strong. The story is gripping, the tension builds beautifully, and I was completely hooked from the beginning. But as the chapters went on, the plot started to feel a bit confusing. I caught myself going back a few times, thinking I had missed something important. Eventually, I realized it might just be the writing style, intentionally chaotic and disorienting, but it still took away some of the enjoyment for me.

The spicy scenes between the main characters also didn’t fully land for me. I couldn’t always feel the chemistry, especially in the earlier moments. It might just be a personal thing, but those scenes didn’t blend naturally with the emotional development of their relationship.

Zoe’s character, at times, felt more like a teenager than an adult woman, which made it harder to connect with her and lessened the overall intensity of the story. On top of that, Nikki’s role became quite predictable, and the interactions between her and Zoe felt rather shallow. By the time I reached chapter 28, I had mostly lost interest in finishing the book.

What truly saved the experience for me was Quinn Riley’s narration. Her tone, pacing, and emotional delivery added depth where the story itself sometimes fell flat. She brought the characters to life and kept me listening even when the plot lost momentum.

Overall, it’s a story with a strong premise and potential, but it struggled to maintain the spark it started with. Quinn Riley’s performance was, without a doubt, the highlight.
