Foi uma história interessante que usa um demônio literal para representar traumas familiares. Gostei da ideia, porém aa personagens são tão irritantes que acabei achando meio chato. Valeu a leitura mesmo assim

The writing is simple yet incredibly effective at what it sets out to do: crafting an imperfect family story against the backdrop of accessible suspense and horror, with a plot that kept me hooked from beginning to end.

I absolutely loved Clio, and, by extension, Alex. I especially loved that we get to know Clio's mother through her own words in her book, which pulls us right into her "madness."

It was very clear to me how much of her childhood Clio had repressed, burying those memories in her unconscious, and how they resurfaced as symptoms in different areas of her life. (Psychoanalysis really is everywhere!)

I also loved how, as the story unfolds, the family's dynamics gradually fall apart, and each revelation shows that things didn't actually happen the way they'd always been told.

The audiobook narration was fantastic, and hearing the scenes inside the house made the eerie atmosphere even more immersive. And the cherry on top, as in every great story, is the romantic subplot. Austin was exactly what Clio needed.

This book was excellent in every possible way!
