Sobre este título
What if Shakespeare got it all wrong and Romeo and Juliet weren't really star-crossed lovers? What if their story was meant to be written in another way?
The war is finally over. The price was everything.
In the wake of the double suicide of Benvolio Montague and Valentina Capulet, who were secret lovers, the shattered city of Verona has found a brutal path to peace. To end the centuries-long feud between the Montagues and the Capulets, Prince Escalus has decreed a "Blood Peace:" a forced marriage between their last remaining heirs, Romeo and Juliet.
Romeo Montague is a man living in a ghost story. Haunted by the untimely death of his cousin, Benvolio, and trapped by a debt of honor, he is prepared to sacrifice his future to save his family’s name. But Romeo has a secret, one that is far more dangerous than any family vendetta. He is in love with someone else and not the woman he is being forced to marry.
As the wedding bells begin to toll, Romeo must navigate a city of spies, a bitter bride-to-be, still mourning her sister's death, who also has secrets of her own, and a family that would rather see them both dead than "dishonored." Only one man, his childhood best friend, Mercutio Esclus, can help Romeo escape this future he is being forced to have.
In a world where love is a political weapon, and the shadows of the city are the only sanctuary, can one man rewrite the stars, or is Verona destined once again to be the graveyard of two more lovers' hearts?
Yes, they are the same characters that you read about in 9th-grade English, but now the plot has been flipped upside down, with new twists and turns that folks won't see coming! There will be laughter, there will be tears, and audiences will fall in love once again with a new interpretation of this very famous tragic tale, some say the greatest love story ever told!
Ask yourself, what are you willing to sacrifice for true love? What is your happiness really worth?
