David Clay is a recent college graduate and newlywed struggling to cope with the disappointment of life after earning his journalism degree. With his mind full of grand ideas of writing award-winning stories to change the world, he is quickly introduced to the mundane and often unrewarding existence at a community newspaper.
And then the economy stalls, leaving the paper with no choice but to cut jobs to remain in business.
