Sobre este título
We are all made to be self-correcting, self-regulating autonomous beings. However, for most of us, the way we live our lives and the context within which we live them mean that we lose our ability to live and move in the way that we’re designed to, freely and comfortably as a whole connected system. The impact of life accumulates to the point where we’re no longer supple, feel increasingly stiff, are possibly in pain, and feel disconnected. Having discomfort, being in pain, and ceasing to do what we love as we age has become normal and widely accepted. However, this doesn’t need to be the case. We just need to remember how it is to move and live as we’re designed to!
Somatic Movement: Restoring Functional, Pain-Free Movement and Moving Towards Connection and Wholeness guides you through the very approach that enables you to move and live as you’re made to. This approach is based upon Clinical Somatic Education developed by Thomas Hanna. This is an empowering method that helps you to learn and understand what your subconscious muscular holding patterns are that are causing or contributing to your pain, restricted movement, and disconnection. You then learn how to release these holding patterns, through very intentional, gentle yet powerful somatic movements. When you learn how to explore this for yourself, you’re creating long-term change at the level of your nervous system. You are learning how to be consciously in control of yourself, and you are learning how to function as a free, autonomous and whole connected system.
