Coffee conversations. I love them! The conversation could be with a longtime friend or with a woman I’ve just met. It doesn’t always involve coffee—it could happen over lunch or on a video call. No matter the specifics, I love that I get the chance to know someone better. It fills me up.

That’s what this book is: a series of coffee conversations. This time, I’ll be doing most of the talking—sharing my life and the things in my heart. So I would encourage you to grab your coffee or tea and listen to this book as if we were chatting in a coffee shop.

Give each conversation time to marinate. I won’t be there to listen to you as you process and respond, like I would if we actually were having coffee, but someone else will be there.

The questions at the end of each chapter are intended to lead you in a conversation with God. I encourage you to process each question with Him. Take it slow. Breathe. Give Him the space to speak to you. He loves you and wants to have a relationship with you. He will sit with you in your coffee conversations and show you His heart if you are willing.
