A pleasant and purposeful prequel
Suzanne manages to create interesting characters with backgrounds that connect all the way to the Hunger Games and Katniss, as well as A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. She is an impressive storyteller. Haymitch has become a more compelling and tragic character after this one, but she also shows us there is hope and a chance at life after years of pain and of war.

Mais do mesmo. Adorei!!!
Esta história complementa bem o universo de Jogos Vorazes. Sugiro ler tudo em sequência, pq várias coisas eu não lembrava mais dos outros livros, deve ser uma experiência mais legal. A narração é boa, só no início é meio robótica (como a maioria dos audiobooks, eu acho) mas depois melhora. No final, tem uns versos que não ficaram muito legais na narração, mas nada que atrapalhe. A fala é clara, então dá pra entender bem o inglês.

Gory, predictable, melodramatic
This book is about the murder of children by children, and it gets very graphic. I read it for nostalgia but I see I’m no better than the Capitol people for seeking entertainment in this. I feel ashamed. The only reason this book existis is money.
