Sobre este título

The phenomenal fifth book in the Hunger Games series!

Acclaimed actor Jefferson White, who starred in Paramount Network's Yellowstone as Jimmy Hurdstrom, brings his talent to the worldwide best-selling Hunger Games series as narrator of the Sunrise on the Reaping audiobook!

When you've been set up

to lose everything you love,

what is there left to fight for?

As the day dawns on the fiftieth annual Hunger Games, fear grips the districts of Panem. This year, in honor of the Quarter Quell, twice as many tributes will be taken from their homes.

Back in District 12, Haymitch Abernathy is trying not to think too hard about his chances. All he cares about is making it through the day and being with the girl he loves.

When Haymitch's name is called, he can feel all his dreams break. He's torn from his family and his love, shuttled to the Capitol with the three other District 12 tributes: a young friend who's nearly a sister to him, a compulsive oddsmaker, and the most stuck-up girl in town. As the Games begin, Haymitch understands he's been set up to fail. But there's something in him that wants to fight . . . and have that fight reverberate far beyond the deadly arena.

The story is very intense like every book from the Hunger Games series. The narrator was terrific, I loved every second! His voice is very similar to movie’s Haymitch, which I quite enjoyed.

Loved it!

The best book of the series, in my opinion. Made me completely forget any interest I had on the game’s details and want to know only about the relationships, character developments, thoughts behind decisions and what would happening in the end. Complex, yet truly understandable and likeable characters all over, even the careers. It made me remember who the true enemy is: not the kids who want to kill each other, but the system in which they were raised. Such a fenomenal writing, not to mention the incredible narration by this amazing actor, who just embodied every emotion and made me feel like I was truly listening to the character’s thoughts. And even though I already knew so much about haymitch’s story, Suzanne still managed to shock and surprise me again and again, chapter after chapter. Really nice rhythm and development of arcs throughout the book (though i have to say I just completely loved masylee’s arch as a singular character and as part of the protagonist’s main relationships). And his personality? Jesus Christ, the last romantic alive. Just have to say I agree with Plutarch… he was different already simply by being capable of imagining a different world. Ended up respecting this character even more than I already did, which just shows how amazing the author is in world and personality building. Beautiful. I hope I can get over the pain it made me feel though.

So good I might never read it again

Suzanne manages to create interesting characters with backgrounds that connect all the way to the Hunger Games and Katniss, as well as A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. She is an impressive storyteller. Haymitch has become a more compelling and tragic character after this one, but she also shows us there is hope and a chance at life after years of pain and of war.

A pleasant and purposeful prequel
