Sinopse
Feeling she has little choice but to leave her beloved community, Maggie takes a teaching job and buys a century-old farmhouse in the hills of Northern California. She is looking for a fresh start and land to grow some roots. What she finds is a dilapidated house, a barn she can’t bring herself to go into, and a mystery involving the former occupants.
A daughter sent away never to be heard from again, a father’s lifeless body found in a snow storm, and Daniel, the angry brother who has lived with the pain of it all, for more than 70 years. As Maggie begins to build her life in the community, she slowly unravels a story of love and deceit. While delving into the history of her new place, Maggie is confronted with her own desires and vulnerabilities in love, along with the anger and pain of Daniel, the man who still grieves for a sister lost so long ago.
