What does the Bible say about human intimate relations and sexuality? Is God against our desires and sexual inclinations?
This theme was presented on April 25, 2025, to a small group of young people, most of them from the Capital Brazilian Church (BR2).
My notes:
· What was the origin of human gender differentiation? Gen. 1:26-28
· How satisfied was God after the end of the creation process, including the creation of the two-gender humans? Gen. 1:31
· What important steps should be given before a couple becomes “one flesh” (1 Cor. 6:16)? Gen. 2:24
· Are the intimate relations to be regarded as only for procreation purposes? Prov. 5:15-19; Ecc. 9:9
· How does God regulate intimate relations between a married couple? 1 Cor. 7:1-6;
· What holy principle should guide the intimate relations? Phil. 2:3-11
· How does God value the intimate relations conducted according to His guidance? Heb. 13:4
Note: Based on the biblical account, a pure intimate relationship should include all the following components:
- Two persons
- Male and female
- Real persons (non-virtual ones)
- Under a life-enduring commitment (marriage)
- Ruled by love (the opposite of selfishness)
- Functionality as established by God at Creation
