Edith Cushing (Mia Wasikowska) was a young girl when her mother passed, Brought up in the Victorian era, she strives to be more than just a woman of marriageable age. She becomes enamored with Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston), a mysterious stranger.
Moving to London, she begins to experience ghostly frights and when Dr Alan McMichael (Charlie Hunnam) investigates, all hell breaks loose. Will Edith get trapped with the ghosts, or will she break free?
