We count down our Top 10 films of the year, endure our Bottom 5 cinematic disasters, and spotlight the Best 5 Animated Films, where craft, imagination, and risk still seem to matter.

Once the autopsy is complete, we turn our attention forward. What does 2026 look like on paper? Which projects feel like genuine events, which smell like studio obligation, and which are quietly flying under the radar? We sort through the release calendar, argue about hype versus substance, and lock in the films we’ll be reviewing next year.
