The Great Gildersleeve is a radio situation comedy, broadcast from 1941 to 1957.

The series was built around the character Throckmorton Gildersleeve, a regular element of the radio situation comedy, Fibber McGee and Molly.

This classic episode is titled "Acting Police Commissioner" and first aired in 1949.

When the Police Commissioner goes on a fishing trip with the Mayor, Gildy is assigned as the Acting Police Commissioner, and dives headlong into the role.

While remastering this episode, I left in the original commercials from the original recording, to preserve a more authentic listening experience. The way it originally aired in 1949.
