We all run for different clubs in the Greater Manchester area, but we all share a love for running. In our episodes, we will be interviewing runners past and present…fast, steady and slow; reviewing some of the kit, talking about races and parkruns but if you have any suggestions, we'd love to hear from you. At Twisted Running, they believe every runner deserves to feel seen. The brand started because they were tired of running gear that only spoke to the fastest, leanest, most elite athletes. Twisted is built for the middle of the pack. The early risers and late-night joggers. The comeback stories. The ones who run for their minds, not their medals. With running apparel made for movement, which is technical, breathable, and tough enough to handle whatever your run throws at you. But more than just kit, Twisted is a mindset: community over competition. We celebrate every effort, every journey, every mile — no matter the pace. Use LRP10 for 10% off

  • Episode 114 - Bev Beeley
    Nov 5 2025

Dave, Cal, Katie and Sean speak with a Twisted Running Club runner who has an amazing story. Bev has PBs of 23:43 for 5k, 49:23 for 10k, 1:45:25 for the half, and 3:45:54 for the marathon. She talks about her story of finding joy in running 2 years into her sobriety and staying focused a day at a time. She was able to shift her full focus into running during lockdown and was aiming for medals, but not times, will that change? Being self taught, Bev has learned many lessons and has found out the hard way what works, and what doesn't work for her. She is a big believer in the mindset of "A run is going to be be the world of good" and always thinks to that feeling when you're back after a run. Being bullied in school, Bev talks about how some of them bullies have come to her PT classes but knows she wouldn't say anything about the past, but they aren't running marathons are they? Bev talks about fuelling the body, supplements, female health and why she doesn't like 5k (but we might have her for the Tameside 5k). Fund raising for some amazing charities, Bev has raised £1000s for charities close to her heart.

The team talk about safety at this time of year and how habits change. Race reviews is a big one this week with (big breath) SELCC, Oldham Half, Frankfurt Marathon, British Masters XC Relays, XC Relays in Mansfield, Fairway 5 and New York Marathon. Dave talks about busy work life but still getting the runs in with a little calf twinge, Sean is all about the marathon build up but still wants 6 more weeks, Cal is working on getting some speed in the legs with nothing booked on the horizon,Katie has been racing SELCC, Oldham Half and Fairway 5, will she have a weekend off?
