Sobre este áudio
In this powerful recording from the kirtan during a satsang at Yoga Vidya yoga-vidya.de in Bad Meinberg, Germany, Shankara S. shankarayoga.de leads us with his singing into the depths of one of the most important Vedic mantras: “Om Purnam Adah Purnam Idam” – a Vedic peace mantra from the Isha Upanishad.
The kirtan begins calmly and solemnly, with a gentle musical introduction that creates space for inner arrival. Shankara's voice carries the mantra with depth and devotion, accompanied by harmonium, drums, and delicate percussion sounds that slowly unfold and grow into a meditative dynamic.
"Om Purnam Adah Purnam Idam
Purnat Purnam Udachyate
Purnasya Purnam Adaya
Purnam Eva Avashishyate"
Translated, it means:
"Perfect is the One, perfect is that which arises from it.
If you take the perfect from the perfect, only the perfect remains."
This mantra reminds us of the wholeness and completeness of all being—that nothing is missing and everything that arises is already part of the whole. A deeply spiritual message that is not only audible but also palpable in this recording.
