  • A Very Public Murder: Episode 451
    Jul 7 2025

This episode is from East Anglia and looks at the story of 17 year-old Amanda Wagg. Amanda had so much going for her in life, but she was being abused by her boyfriend 22 year-old Shaun Thrower and despite doing all she could to leave him, Thrower turned up at her work one normal Wednesday to make one final attempt to reunite with Amanda. The consequences were shocking.

This episode also reflects on the warning signs of coercive and controlling behaviour, and the importance of early intervention in situations involving young people and abuse. If you, or someone you know are suffering any form of abuse, you are not alone and help is available from Refuge and their free, 24 hour helpline: 0808 2000 247.

  • The Gleision Mine Disaster: Episode 448
    Jun 16 2025

There have been many miners killed across the UK, in a series of terrible accidents in an industry that has always been known as dangerous. But when we think of coal mining disasters they tend to be in the 18th and 19th centuries, including the worst mining disaster in UK history which killed 439 men and boys working in Senghenydd, Glamorgan in 1913 as a result of a gas explosion.

The story today is from the 21st century, but is again from South Wales and once again, it destroyed many lives.

  • Murderous Secrets Of The Moors : Episode 447
    Jun 10 2025

It was a couple walking their dog who found the human remains in a beautiful part of Dartmoor. This grisly find led to a tricky investigation for police to find out who the person was and just what had happened to them. The answer to this investigation lay not in forensics or other technology, but good old-fashioned police work.
