Sherlock Holmes has retired to his farm on the Sussex Downs, whilst Dr. John Watson has become a GP in the Yorkshire Dales. Watson is struggling to deal with the first weeks of the COVID outbreak, yet Holmes discovers that an old enemy is about to carry out a terrible crime, right under Watson’s nose. It is down to the heroic Watson to save the day.

When Mrs. Hudson asks Holmes and Watson to find a missing girl, neither men expected what they would find. Along with Lestrade, they are plunged into a case of abduction and murder. As they race from Marylebone, to Finchley, to Wapping, and back again, time is running out for them to solve the case without further casualties. With two of their own under threat, the pressure is mounting to catch and stop the group known as "Hellfire Heirs".

In 1893, Dr. Watson and Conan Doyle published what they believed was the last Sherlock Holmes story, "The Final Problem". The world was stunned, and The Strand Magazine rushed to fill the vacuum. Readers were soon introduced to a new detective, Martin Hewitt, as presented by Arthur Morrison. Although initially different than Holmes, Hewitt also showed a number of interesting similarities as well.

A decade before his death, Dr. Watson let it be known that with his passing he wished his nephew, Christopher Henry Watson, MD, to be the executor of his will and guardian of all his personal and pecuniary affairs. One of the tasks he sanctioned was that his nephew should use his discretion in selecting for publication some of the three dozen or so cases involving Holmes and Watson that had not already seen the light of day.

Did you ever wonder where Sherlock Holmes found the Persian slipper he keeps his shag tobacco in? Had Holmes and Watson ever met before that day at St. Barts? Did Holmes really believe in curses when he said he did? Dr. John Watson reveals the answers to these questions in The Persian Slipper and Other Stories, along with cases involving the putative Naval Man, a night spent at a gentlemen’s club, Holmes’ second marriage proposal, a movable tree, and a surprising wedding ending.

With Baron Barlucci escaping London on his way to New York with Abigail Drake, Dr. Watson is certain they’ve seen the last of the Whitechapel Vampire; Sherlock Holmes isn’t so sure. They soon learn the Animus Lacuna, barque of the now infamous Barlucci, was reported lost at sea and a longboat carrying the body of Abigail Drake was recovered by Newfoundland fishermen. But when Inspector Andrews of Scotland Yard arrives to retrieve her remains, the body suddenly disappears and Sherlock Holmes is called in to investigate.

From some clear pieces of glass and a raven's feather, the great detective must divine exactly who the client was and what prompted him to seek assistance at 221B. Fortunately, Holmes has a number of experts upon whom he can rely as well as his own vast store of esoteric knowledge. Treading a twisted path, Holmes soon finds himself matching wits with an unseen criminal, who appears to be the equal of the late Professor Moriarty. At the same time, he is tasked with sparing the monarchy any possible embarrassment that may stem from the investigation.

These aren’t typical Sherlockian pastiches - the listener won’t find new investigations in the traditional manner. Rather, these stories take the inconsistencies and contradictions to be found in those original 12 canonical adventures and pull them apart, twist them, double back on them, and construct them into something that’s sly and new and thoroughly thought-provoking. These efforts are dense with material and are filled with Easter Eggs for the perceptive Sherlockian. The author’s subtle sense of humor and affection for Holmes and Watson peeks through at every turn.

Regrettably, Johanna Watson was born a woman, and to add to her father’s dismay, she was horrendously bad at it. She had a fire in her and a passion for research, science, and learning that her father didn’t understand. But after striking a deal with her brother, she took his place studying medicine incognito behind their father’s back. After returning to London, she found rooms at 221B Baker Street with the enigmatic individual Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock has her own secrets, and a life so full of mystery and intrigue that Watson cannot help but get wrapped up in it.

Sherlock Holmes said that Mary Morstan might have been most useful in detective work if she had only remained single. She had a decided genius. So, bored with staying at home while her husband is away helping Holmes catch criminals, Dr. Watson's wife decides to have a go at the game herself. In this she is ably assisted by her friend Emily Fanshaw, who likes to play a transvestite role occasionally.

It is the start of the First World War. Sherlock Holmes is coaxed out of a short-lived retirement to track down an exotic dancer to retrieve a secret accidentally given to her by a young patent clerk before it falls into the hands of a hostile government.

1915. Sherlock Holmes to Watson: Stand with me here upon the terrace, for it may be the last quiet talk that we shall ever have. 1929. A small hospital somewhere in Dorset. An anteroom off a dimly lit corridor. It is night, and there is not even the smallest amount of light penetrating the room.

Sherlock Holmes has been missing and is presumed dead for some time, and his grief-stricken landlady, Mrs. Hudson, is anxious for a distraction. However, she is in for a culture shock when she travels to Ireland with her friend, Kitty Melrose, to try and stop a forced marriage. What she finds is a countryside steeped in superstition and beliefs in the old ways, a place of fairy forts and holy wells, and of changelings and banshees. A place, moreover, where an impoverished peasantry remains under the heel of oppressive English landlords, but not for much longer.

The Sherlockian Canon, as prolific as it is, contains few accounts in which Mr. Holmes and his medical colleagues Doctors Watson and Verner solve cases involving frightening medical conditions. It strikes me that many more such cases were successfully solved by Mr. Holmes and his associates. It is unlikely that Doctors Watson and Verner would allow such mysteries remain unsolved.

The year is 1905, and residents along the southern coast of England are experiencing a series of tragic events which threaten to destroy the peaceful city of Torquay. That lovely coastal community hard by the English Channel is now having to deal with a series of brutal crimes, the likes of which it has never seen before.
