The mysterious Dealer in Whispers and Death has let it be known in the right ears they can kill Skharr DeathEater—for a hell of a price. The Dealer has never failed to kill their target in the over two hundred years of their existence, and they love a good challenge.

You help wipe out the crime lords of a city, and suddenly those in power want you dead or gone. The city's council just needs to figure out how to get him to leave. His axe finished, Skharr needed to deal with getting the prized relic to the DeathEater clan. He decided to exchange a favor, for a favor. The timing couldn't be better.

Santana's unasked for downtime leads to her reconnecting with Terra and being pulled into a case that has the ASJ's head spinning. The inner city is a jungle in its own right. A murder victim, an animal that has been extinct for 30,000 years, and a bio-engineering team who are using the animal to attack their enemies. Santana pairs with Terra Kris to solve the case and uncovers a trail that goes much deeper than anyone anticipated.

Opening night at the Foxfire Theater is set to be a huge success for Daidoji Shin, amateur detective turned theater impresario. The City of the Rich Frog's leading lights are all there, but even as the performance begins, the Three Flower Troupe's new lead actress is found dead backstage—and everyone in the venue is a potential suspect. Shin has only until the curtain falls to find the killer. But the clock is ticking and Shin can only hold the great and the good hostage so long. As the night wears on, the chance of the murderer escaping justice grows ever more likely.

Dying in virtual reality isn't fun, but facing bullets from real-world criminal overlords is really the pits. In such a desperate scenario, their demand to render them a service in VR doesn't sound like such a bad alternative. The problem is, the games played by spook agencies follow much harsher rules. For them, the absence of choice doesn't sound like a good excuse - not if you end up in the grindstones of their undercover schemes.

Follow Clyde on his continuing adventures, as he gets back to Glaton—wait, he promised to visit the City of Darkness. Right. City of Darkness and then back to Glaton. Except . . . wait. What's wrong with the small coastal town of Furtaxo? Okay, first Furtaxo. If Clyde can get that mystery figured out, then he can move on to the next quest.
