Jack London's South Sea Tales is a collection of eight short stories set in the South Pacific. The stories include: "The House of Mapuhi", "The Whale Tooth", "Mauki", "Yah! Yah! Yah!", "The Heathen", "The Terrible Solomons", "The Inevitable White Man", and "The Seed of McCoy".

Targeted by the other pups in the Native American camp before being sold to a dog fighter, White Fang grows to be fierce, distrustful, and morose.

This is the sensitive entry into the mind of an animal of mixed parentage. Part dog, part wolf, White Fang's experiences in the wild and with the "man-animals" and his "love master" are sometimes frightening, yet often moving.
