Charlie Rhodes has spent her entire life wondering who she is, why she was abandoned as a child, and what’s behind the magical powers she can wield in the blink of an eye. Haunted Traditions has made a name for itself as the premiere reality television show catering to paranormal enthusiasts. Of course Hemlock Cove pops up on their radar. What they want most of all is an interview with Bay, the local newspaper owner and expert on all things Hemlock Cove, and a shot of magic happening in real time wouldn’t hurt either. The woman in question is not having it. When a body drops in an alley, it’s bad enough that the production crew is on site.

If it’s not demon birds and spiders it’s something else haunting Hawthorne Hollow these days. Scout Randall, Michigan’s favorite pixie apex, is ready for a break. Then the unthinkable happens. It starts small during a job in the woods. The attacking force reminds Scout of something she can’t quite put her finger on. When she does identify where she knows the creatures from, she’s thrown. She saw them in a movie. She manages to push the idea from her mind. Well, mostly. Movies can’t come to life after all. Then it happens again. And again.

The honeymoon is over for Poet and Kade. After a blissful week off from the day-to-day grind of the circus—where the only problem they had to deal with was the weird snake that appeared on the front porch of their cabin—the newlyweds are back with their friends in Phoenix. And nothing will ever be the same again. Phoenix is a city run by a slither of lamia, and even though Raven tries to maintain her distance from them each year when the circus rolls around, that’s not really an option this time.

Mystic Caravan Circus is heading to Charleston and - per usual - trouble is not far behind. For Poet Parker, who is grappling with saying good-bye to her assistant, she’s looking forward to quiet nights on the beach and quality time with her boyfriend. All that changes when the sea starts giving up its dead...and they appear to be hungry. Under normal circumstances, zombies wouldn’t be a big deal. They’re slow, lumbering, and easy to dispatch. This infestation is different...and they appear to be controlled by a strange creature long since thought extinct.
