Detective Kate Morgan arrives at a broken-down house, supposedly the site of a suspicious death, only to receive a screaming warning from Simon not to enter the building. Turns out, she had been given the wrong address but does find a dead body at the corrected address. As Kate sorts out whether she has a Black Widow on her most recent case, Simon tries to help a homeless man, who ends up in the morgue—now one of Kate’s newest files because that poor man’s body had been found in the broken-down house. That’s nothing compared to what else she finds on the premises.

Gideon immediately returned to Coronado base at the call for help. After hearing the issues facing him, he dove right in, knowing that he could bury the pain of his past broken relationship the same as he always had. The fact that they’d lived here in this city years ago didn’t make it harder. Yet, once he caught sight of Pearl, it made it almost impossible. Nate comes to the rescue and shares how he had been called in to locate Madeline, when she didn’t arrive as planned.

With Mathew’s murder done and dusted, and her future now wide open, Doreen turns to sorting out her financial world, particularly as her antiques are sold. And helping others is moving up her list of things she wants to do. Especially after finding a young woman who wants to get out of the streetwalker world and to move back home.

Masters has joined Jasper’s investigation team, when they realize another investigator went missing four months ago, yet his case is on hold. Part of the issue is that Masters needs to figure out who on the existing team is trustworthy. He reaches out to the missing investigator’s sister, looking for answers. Elizabeth has been seeking answers over her brother’s disappearance ever since the last time she spoke to him. With no leads, no tips, and no sign of him, the case ran cold.

The police force rallies around her, as their history rips apart her former life and finds out that all her suspicions about Mathew were correct, and he'd been in deep trouble.

Dealing with the loss of his right leg was one thing, but dealing with his missing left arm was more than Wesley can handle. He can hide the prosthetic leg. However, the arm is damn-near impossible to make look normal. And being normal mattered or so he thought. Alba is a therapist at Hathaway House, helping the patients come to terms with their new reality, in order to have the highest-functioning future possible. Wesley is on her roster, but, as their sessions progress, a connection builds that is hard to resistor to ignore. But she has to stay professional.

Reid Cocheran is eager to see Venialla again, after losing contact years ago when they were in the same research group. Finding out that MI6 lost her and her mother in a secret operation, while moving them both back to England, has him volunteering immediately.

Conall is more than happy to head out after a War Dog has gone missing, leaving a wheelchair-bound military war veteran lost and alone. Yet what seems like a simple job takes an unsavory turn, when Conall comes face-to-face with darker undertones in that town. Bethany always wanted to have her own veterinary clinic, and she's been doing a decent job of it, until so much of the town died that she finds it hard to get and to keep decent staff.

Following up the leads doesn’t help, only confuses the issue—until someone slips up or slips away literally. As usual, he has few answers, and the ones he does find make no sense.

Doreen loves gardens, all kinds of them. In the Okanagan, situated at the tip of the desert, water-frugal gardening makes sense. When Doreen sees a lovely xeriscaped garden from a drone video, she’s fascinated. When Mack mentions a mystery surrounding the property, she is mesmerized.
