Sometime in the near future, a few years after the Zombie Apocalypse has devastated the world, a small group of soldiers (sort of) is covering the United States Army's advance back into Upstate New York and the Hudson River Valley. The team is what this book is about. How men and women work together to overcome obstacles, deal with loss, and form an efficient fighting unit.

God, Divine Mind, is the everlasting creator of my being and all being. My creator lives within me and endows me with new life each day and always. This creative mind is constantly bringing new forms, new ideas, new inspirations to replace old ones. The life-force of the infinite in me, never stands still, waits, lingers, nor even pauses. I know I live in a universe of everlasting right action, movement, change, and perpetual progress.

Throughout the ages people have prayed, and you and I know that no sincere prayer was ever uttered without helping the one who gave it. We know that faith has done more than any other one thing to keep hope alive. We know that always in times of stress people have turned to god. But we really want to know something beyond this. We want to discover the secret of prayer as an effective force which actually can accomplish definite results.

When Jesus said, "It is done unto you as you believe", he not only announced a law of faith, he explained how it works. If there is a law of faith, it is right where you are, and it will operate like any other law in nature.

This book shares what I, with the many who helped me, did to make a far greater recovery than any physician or physical therapist expected. Some of my physical rehabilitation may have specific relevance only to those with physical disabilities. All of my mental rehabilitation will have relevance to everyone. I write this hoping to give all of you kind enough to listen to this book some valuable insights without your needing to experience paraplegia, like I did, to discover them.

Demonstrating the spiritual principle of life is a process of convincing the mentality of an inner and ever-present good, reality is already perfect. God is always God and good is never evil. We are all on the receiving line, wishing to get the most out of life. We wouldn't be normal if we didn't wish to enjoy living, for life is made to live. How could there be a song unless someone sings it? But sometimes we fail to realize that there is an exact law of life which tells us that in the long run we shall only receive what we give.

Through the whole life and teaching of Jesus we find this gentle approach. And yet he was always just, as well as kind. He didn't say that we could be saved in our mistakes, but that we must be saved from them. He knew that to err is human, to forgive is divine.

Friends, I want to talk to you about some of the secret powers hidden within each one of us, powers that are transcendent of our ordinary faculties. We are so used to thinking that we are made up of flesh and blood and bone and hair that we lose sight of the more subtle powers of the mind. Yet, throughout the ages there have been people who have had transcendent powers that go beyond the bounds of physical laws, as we understand them.

Throughout our lives, we have read and wondered about the miracles of Jesus. But to how many of us has the thought come that this same power must be available to everyone? We have been so accustomed to thinking of Jesus as a man filled with love and compassion and human kindness that we have overlooked something else about him that is equally important. Jesus had access to a spiritual power that he used in every way.

Did you know that you are a wonderful person in your own right, that life has set a unique stamp of individuality on you, and that no one else can ever take your place in the scheme of things? No two persons have identical thumb prints, no two blades of grass are alike, no two leaves of trees, no two snowflakes are ever identical.

Today I want us to build a ladder of personal achievement, with 10 steps in it, steps that I believe will help us to live happily and successfully and in so doing, help us to help others in the glorious game of living.
