In Mystics of the Renaissance, Rudolf Steiner examines the thought of 11 European mystics (Eckhart, Tauler, Suso, Ruysbroek, Nicholas of Cusa, Agrippa von Nettesheim, Paracelsus, Weigel, Boehme, Giordano Bruno, and Angelus Silesius) through a collection of essays and explains their ideas and how they relate to modern Concepts.

In the beginning, form was given to all created things by the Gods. This power of giving form has passed from the Gods to men, in so far as the mineral kingdom is concerned. In ancient traditions it was taught that man must accomplish the task of transforming the Earth in fulfillment of a threefold goal, namely the realization of truth, beauty, goodness. It is for man to make the Earth into a temple of truth, beauty, and goodness. And then, those who come after him will look upon his work as we now look upon the mineral world which came forth from the hands of the Gods.

What has to be imparted has been given in the form of eight meditations, which can be actually practiced. If this is done, they can be adapted for imparting to the soul, through its own inner-deepening, that about which they speak.

There slumber in every human being faculties by means of which he can acquire for himself a knowledge of higher worlds. Mystics, Gnostics, and Theosophists all speak of a world of soul and spirit which for them is just as real as the world we see with our physical eyes and touch with our physical hands.

Opera fondamentale per la comprensione degli insegnamenti di Steiner, fu pubblicato nel 1910. In esso si trattano i seguenti argomenti: la costituzione dell'uomo; l'evoluzione del mondo e dell'uomo; la conoscenza dei mondi superiori e tecniche di iniziazione; presente e futuro dell'evoluzione cosmica umana.

Due saggi di Steiner sulla teoria della conoscenza: il primo sostiene e spiega la teoria della conoscenza di Goethe, il secondo approfondisce la teoria della conoscenza di Kant e di Fichte, per dimostrarne il vizio dovuto a presupposti, e portarsi ad un gradino più avanzato, che è preliminare alla vera e propria filosofia di Steiner: la filosofia della libertà.

In questo scritto, del 1913, vengono date in forma riassunta descrizioni di quelle parti del mondo e dell'essere umano che compaiono alla coscienza chiaroveggente. È certamente uno scritto molto meno approfondito dei due, "Teosofia" e "Scienza Occulta", che l'hanno preceduto, ma è, come tutti gli scritti di Steiner, leggibile per sé, senza aver letto i precedenti, ed è decisamente molto fruibile per la sua concisione e chiarezza.
