This is a collection of stories I have written throughout the years. They are all short stories with some being longer than others and none of them having any chapters. Perhaps no other figure in American history is more shrouded in myth and legend than David ("Davy") Crockett, the Tennessee frontiersman whose death at the Alamo in 1836 ensured his place in the Valhalla of American heroes. Crockett himself was responsible for much of the folklore about his life. A gregarious, fun-loving man, he was more than capable of spinning tall tales over a "horn" of liquor.

Fort Clark was regarrisoned in 1866 and the history of Fort Clark was filled with clashes with the Apache, occasionally with the Comanche, and always with the bandit gangs that crossed freely back and forth across the Border, preying on the homesteaders. The Tye Wakins Series of books attempt to portray this danger. The stories center on Tye, who is Chief of Scouts at Clark in 1868. He is continually putting himself at risk trying to protect the homesteaders living in the area as well as keeping the troops out of harm's way.

In 1806, Frederick and Katherine Stockman land their family in a forlorn swamp at the mouth of the Trinity River of Spanish Texas. They try to start a new life surrounded by menacing wildlife, debilitating maladies, hostile people, and a growing threat of war. As "Texicans" they are accepted neither by their Spanish overlords or those in favor of independence.

Matt Anderson was dead, shot down in a bank hold-up that shocked the small community of Bozeman, Montana. At least the townsfolk thought he was dead. A case of mistaken identity may have saved Matt's life, but it would have to be a life lived in exile.
