Londoner Charlotte Cheshire and Brooklynite Anthony Monteleone are both having a blue Christmas: both dumped by their exes, both stranded at New York's John F. Kennedy airport, and both desperate for something to take their minds off the holiday. After their chance meeting and realization that they are in a similar predicament, Charlotte suggests traveling into the city for an adventure, following the steps in a silly self-help book she has about getting over a broken heart, but Anthony thinks she must be nuts! However, anything is better than spending Christmas Eve alone.

For years, Columbia freshman Serena has dreamed of visiting Paris - the city where her parents had their idyllic, romantic honeymoon. And since her father unexpectedly died two years ago, Serena has cooked up a plan to travel to Paris with her mother and sister as a way to celebrate and remember her dad. Unfortunately, her mom and sister are less committed to the plan - her mom backs out to attend a conference in London, and her sister makes plans in Madrid after a misunderstanding with Serena.

When Jason and Cassie cross paths at a Les Misérables screening, they decide to explore London together and experience a few days of unexpected surprises....
