MARSHAL

Mac MacKenna spent twenty years of his adult life running toward danger to save others during his service in the U.S. Air Force special operations. But at Brookfield Academy, the threat isn’t wearing a uniform or carrying a weapon. It’s hidden behind money, influence, respectable reputations, and people who know exactly how to keep their secrets buried.

Someone hurts your child. What would you do? It’s an uncomfortable question—and the heart of Unknown Alliance. A father wants answers. He wants to protect his daughter. And for reasons of his own, he doesn’t want the police involved. Enter Mac MacKenna, a man who honed his instincts and skills to help others during his twenty years in the U. S. Air Force special operations. But this time, identifying the danger may be easier than deciding whom to trust. This small-town mystery taps into something deeply human: the lengths we’ll go to for someone we love.

In Unknown Event, someone within the world of Blackstone Academy has murderous intent. The students aren’t the target of a killer’s obsession. They are something perhaps even more chilling—innocent victims caught in the crosshairs of someone with an agenda. For Mac MacKenna, finding a killer means looking beyond the familiar faces and everyday routines of a school and asking who’s hiding their true self.

Revenge is frightening, but when you don’t know who wants it, it’s terrifying. A methodical killer has come to Brookfield. A retired law enforcement officer is dead. There’s somewhere near Perla Lake who is patiently carrying out a plan of revenge—and Mac MacKenna doesn’t yet know he’s connected. Then his sister, Maggie, disappears without a trace. Suddenly, this isn’t simply a murder in his small-town, it’s personal. Mac spent his adult life being the person others could depend on when everything went wrong.
