A simple promise I made to myself after escaping a brutal childhood of abuse and being trained to enact violence on unblessed witches. Since that moment, I've managed to survive on the streets by successfully pickpocketing. Unfortunately, after years of hiding, the monster who stars in all my nightmares is closer than ever, and I'm faced with only one option—to seek refuge at the Dark Imaginarium Academy. The Academy is filled with the elite witches of our society. I should have expected I'd run into some of my previous targets. Normally, that wouldn't be a proble—except for my last hit.

Any defenses I had against these men were falling now that they knew the truth about my past—about the darkness that resided under my very skin. After a ritual gone wrong, I find myself even more connected to them than before and embracing the intensity of what was growing between us and the strength it provided me. Something I was going to need because the academy was becoming a very dangerous place.

Dark Imaginarium Academy was no longer a safe haven for me. Any hopes for a fresh start have been completely eliminated—forced to flee the academy with the men who have quickly become everything to me. Carmina is far more dangerous than ever before, though. Even in the secure shadows of the Nyx estate, secrets from my past come to light, revealing something about my heritage I could have never expected. Something that drives me to consider seeking out Astaroth to put an end to the threat that now faces the entire realm… all because of me.

Death at Astaroth's hands was something I'd experienced more times than I could count.
