Edd Straw is joined by Mark Hughes and Jon Noble to review a dramatic wet-dry British Grand Prix in which the home crowd went home happy having witnessed a Lando Norris victory - but Norris's team-mate Oscar Piastri was left upset by a stewards' call that likely lost him the win. We discuss whether the stewards got the call right.

There's also plenty of chat about Nico Hulkenberg's hugely popular first podium finish in F1, and how the Sauber driver was able to rise from P19 on the grid to the top 3, holding off Silverstone specialist Lewis Hamilton in the process. Max Verstappen, Mercedes, Pierre Gasly, Ollie Bearman and more are also discussed, plus the guys tackle the usual big batch of questions sent in by The Race Members' Club.

*The guys were battling some technical issues while recording this, so we apologise for the patchy sound quality in places

  • Bring Back V10s: Monza 2003 and the Michelin tyre controversy
    Jul 4 2025

Bring Back V10s - the podcast the celebrates the golden era of F1 from 1989 to 2005 - is back with Season 12! We're kicking off the new season with one of our most requested topics: the 2003 Michelin tyre controversy that erupted ahead of that year's Italian Grand Prix.

Glenn Freeman, Edd Straw, and returning special guest Ted Kravitz dive into the tyre story in great detail, exploring how Ferrari and Bridgestone brought it to the FIA's attention, how the Michelin teams reacted, and how the fallout from the rule tweak spilled over into a spicy weekend in the Monza paddock.

We'll also explain how Ross Brawn nearly got himself into legal trouble with Michelin, and Ted reveals who Brawn took aim at in a memorable press conference exchange where he told a member of the media to stop laughing.

Other topics covered include Jacques Villeneuve's shaky future at BAR, teams raising concerns about F1's team orders ban, plus Marc Gene's last-minute stand-in heroics for Williams - and how his presence briefly confused the ITV F1 commentators AND the Ferrari pitwall during a crucial pitstop phase of the race.

    Jul 1 2025

Cadillac will make its Formula 1 race debut in 250 days time, in next March’s Australian Grand Prix, but will it be ready? That’s the question we answer in the latest edition of The Race F1 Podcast.

Special Guest Sahil Kapur, from NBC News, joins Ben Anderson and Edd Straw to explain the political machinations that led to the entry being granted earlier this year, and discuss whether the start-up team’s unique structure will work.

We then hear from team principal Graeme Lowdon, who talked to us when The Race paid a visit to Cadillac’s Silverstone facilities for a look around - and explains why he has no doubts that the car will be ready to go.

After that, we discuss potential drivers and the possible impact in America and also ask what is a realistic goal for the team in terms of its performance in 2026.
