We live in an age of being everywhere—except where we truly are. Your body may be at the dinner table, but your mind is already thinking about tomorrow. You’re looking at your children, but your heart is on that email from work (you know the one). You’re sitting in worship, but your brain is processing through the busy week ahead. Oftentimes, the devil doesn’t always need you to be disobedient—he’s thrilled if he can keep you busy, distracted, and constantly feeling like you haven’t quite succeeded. Why? The book of Colossians tells us that we're to "let the Word of God dwell in us richly," and that one of the ways we do this is by singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs (Colossians 3:16).
