In his memoir Waypoints, Heughan digs into his Scottish heritage by hiking the West Highland Way, and along the journey he recounts the life and career events that have shaped him and his personal values. We spoke to Sam Heughan about the joys and trials of West Highland Way, his journey towards processing the absence of his dad, and how the creation of his Outlander family came at just the point he needed in his career.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Dan Abnett, British comic book writer and novelist, who has contributed to series for Marvel, DC Comics and Games Workshop's Black Library. After working as a creator for the journal Nature for a decade, being a frequent contributor to The Guardian newspaper for years and a regular host on BBC Radio 4, Rutherford realised that at some point he had become a writer and broadcaster on science and genetics. A natural at making the deepest depths of science understandable, Rutherford has again taken up his pen (and microphone) and this time enlightened us on the story of eugenics and study of genetics.

She was born in Bedfordshire and began radio presenting at the age of 14 with a request programme on Hospital Radio Bedford. Hammond attended Sussex University and studied applied psychology, and then Surrey University to study for an Msc in health psychology. After university, Hammond began lecturing in psychology and reporting for BBC Radio 5 Live.

She has recently written and narrated the introduction to the book Today: A History of Our World Through 60 Years of Conversations & Controversies, which is what we talk to her about in this interview, as well as what her job involves as Today editor, the words of caution that were given to her when she started the job and the sort of feedback (read ‘polite complaints') that get written in to the show.

We'll be talking to Jaspreet Kaur about her latest venture, her debut non-fiction book Brown Girl Like Me. We'll discuss microaggressions, menstruation and mental health, as well as how to build a foundation of self-love.

Visiting the Audible Studios is acclaimed Icelandic crime writer and playwright Lilja Sigurdardottir, who discusses her title Snare, the first in her Nordic thriller trilogy. Often credited as one of the organizers of 'Icelandic Noir', Lilja has seen huge success in her native country, pushing boundaries with her strong gay female protagonists.

Mike Brooks joins us in the Audible Studios to chat about his Keiko series and the latest instalment, Dark Deeds. He tells us how he juggles a full-time job with writing and what we can expect of protagonist Captain Ichabod Drift and paints us a picture of the world in the books - set in space in the future.
