Mein Aufenthalt in Adrians Penthaus mit seinem Wolfs-Rudel ist vor allem eines: nervenaufreibend. Einerseits fühle ich mich wie Pretty Woman, werde auf Händen getragen und von gleich mehreren Typen verehrt – andererseits merke ich, dass mir die Zeit im Nacken steht sowie ein Canicoren-Alpha, der mich eben dort beißen und markieren möchte. Sofern ich mich denn für ihn als meinen Alpha entscheiden werde. Denn ich bin es, die hier die Regeln aufstellt, nicht Adrian.

Ich, das einfache Hooters Girl, bin mit zwei scharfen Kerlen unterwegs, die sich in riesige Wölfe – oder Canicore, wie sie sich nennen – verwandeln können. Sitze mit ihnen in einem Auto und fahre Richtung Manhattan zu ihrem luxuriösen Penthaus, wo noch vier weitere solche Typen wohnen. Entweder bin ich gerade auf einem Trip, der mich in ein heißes Paralleluniversum befördert hat, oder aber das hier ist der Start in ein äußerst aufregendes Leben.

Tja, da bin ich nun, in einem luxuriösen Penthouse und lerne nach und nach Adrians Rudel kennen. Fünf Betas, die unterschiedlicher nicht sein könnten – und die mein Interesse zugegebenermaßen jeder auf seine eigene Weise wecken. Doch erst gilt es noch, mich mit Adrian irgendwie zu arrangieren. Der Alpha ist zwar bemüht, sich um mich zu kümmern, aber so richtig wohl fühle ich mich trotzdem nicht in seiner Gegenwart.
